The Fig & The Judge

New at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel

Just opened on May 8, The Fig & The Judge is led by Chef Lainie Carey who most recently was the Head Chef at Walla Walla's Whitehouse-Crawford. She will be bringing her love of global flavors and Pacific Northwest dishes with her, featuring fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients.

You'll find fig on several items, like the fig and onion jam on the Snake River Farms wagyu beef hamburger, a pork and fig reduction in the Draper Valley Chicken Ballontine, and a layer of fig preserve in the Hungarian Shortbread dessert. But there's so much more: Double R Ranch NY Strip, Wild Pacific King Salmon (with a little Roland black caviar), a Vietnamese Crepe, and Spicy Crab Linguine. Lunch items will include a Ploughman's Lunch, and Chef's Perfect Pie, reminiscent of Chef's Armenian grandmother's hand-pies.

Restaurant design is by Zena Design Group and focuses on locally-inspired elements that are industrial, aged and reclaimed. The intent was to create a space you could find anywhere in Seattle and not something that feels like a hotel restaurant, and that morphs from a breakfast location and coffee stop to lunch for the downtown workers, then dinner for all. There are tables, counter seating along the windows, sofas, and communal tables.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily. Weekend brunch will begin in late May.
