A Bit of Taste - Queen Anne Olive Oil Co.

It's celebration time

Anniversaries should be celebrated, and we all know that right now we're really craving celebrations. June 1st was the two year anniversary of Debe and Dean Franz purchasing Queen Anne Olive Oil Co. and rebranding as A Bit of Taste - Queen Anne Olive Oil Co. You may recall that 2020 wasn't much of a year for celebrations or, actually, being anywhere near a celebration. So this year, watch out!

The month-long celebration will have weekly festive activities on Thursdays to coordinate with the Queen Anne Farmers Market, from 3-7 p.m. A Bit of Taste will set up a space just outside their front door so anyone walking by can get involved and have some fun. Debe has coordinated with other vendors from the Queen Anne neighborhood and beyond to make Thursdays special. "We've all had enough challenges this past year, vendors and customers alike, and it's time to celebrate ourselves and the customers who carried us through these pandemic months."

Each Thursday will also focus on a different non-profit, and other vendors may participate as well. A Bit of Taste will donate part of their gross sales each week and will give customers the option to donate when they purchase something. This all takes place on the 1600 block of Queen Anne Avenue North and in addition to the specials listed below, A Bit of Taste will also offer drawings and giveaways on social media @abitoftaste.

Since acquiring the store, Debe has added more olive oils and balsamics from the same company, Veronica Foods, than were found in the store before, and redecorated to give the store an "old world" feel. She's also added more gourmet food products-particularly ones from local artisanal family-operated Washington businesses--honey, truffle products, seasoning salts, gifts, and more. You'll find chocolate covered dark espresso beans, olive oil cake mix, Mustard & Co items from Georgetown, rustic French boule mix, San Juan Island sea salts and Jacobsen Italian sea salt, mushroom and truffle spread. In fact, it's hard to tear yourself away from the "truffle corner" if you're a believer.

You can mix and match oils and balsamics in two, three, and four 60ml, 200ml, or 375ml gift sets-perfect for friends and family who love to take their cooking up a level. Or let the staff put together a gift bag that's specific to your giftee - salami stick, olives, boule mix, etc., or a popcorn extravaganza. There is no end to the options.

Mark your calendars so you remember to spend Thursdays in June on top of Queen Anne or stop by anytime to browse and taste.
