DeLille Cellars

A new home after 27 years

Moving to the former Redhook Brewing site (now called Hollywood Station) along with Sparkman Cellars, Teatro ZinZanni, and Wheelhouse restaurant has been in the works for some time for DeLille. It's now open and it's quite something. DeLille has moved their production facility and offices into the three story tasting room and retail tower.

A wood and metal staircase leads guests to each level, past spaces with private rooms and small kitchens. Wood and stainless steel barrels can be viewed through large windows. On the wall into this area, there are framed notes from winemaker Jason Gorski. Just another reminder that winemaking is not a job for the math-challenged.

The third level boasts an outdoor deck with view of surrounding area, including Mount Rainier on clear days. The deck is only available to wine club members and their guests, although there is outdoor patio seating on the main level for non-members.

The building is very modern-looking with a wood and metal exterior and plenty of windows.

If you'd like, you can now make reservations for a tasting on their website. These can be from 1-4 guests, five tastings, 45 minutes, $25 per guest. You can also choose cheese and charcuterie options to go along with the tastings. The tasting fee is waived with a two-bottle purchase.

Another option is to book a group private tasting, 5-8 guests, seven tastings, 1-1/2 hours, $280 total. This includes the room rental (prepayment required) and a wine educator to guide you through the tasting. Again, you can add cheese and charcuterie options.

A third option is to go for the food and wine pairing option for a maximum of 8 guests, four tastings, 1-1/2 hours, $85 per guest. This includes crafted mini pairings along with the wines. It is a semi-guided event in a semi-private room with community-style tasting. Prepayment required.

Their library experience has you enjoying the library room on the second floor of the tasting tower, 12 people maximum, 1-1/2 hours, $100 per person. This guided tasting has you savoring highly-limited wines from the portfolio as well as current vintages. It includes a personal cheese and charcuterie plate. Offerings change throughout the year. Prepayment required.

If you're a wine club member, you have second and third floor tasting options. Members receive access to unique and special bottlings of limited quantity that showcase single vineyards, premier barrels, or custom blends, and priority access to new and library releases. Wine club-only events include first access to retrospective tastings dinners with acclaimed chefs, and tastings in members-only areas.

In 2020, DeLille will begin an event rental program available for wine-centric corporate and private receptions and dinner events in their new location. Space will be available on a somewhat limited basis; check with DeLille.

Maison DeLille Wine Lounge is still offering wine, light bites, and live music in downtown Kirkland. The Carriage House tasting room in Woodinville will be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only.
