Washington Wine Month

Time to celebrate our award-winning wines!

It's March and that means Washington Wine Month. It's not like we don't celebrate ourselves all the time for having tremendous wines grown and made here. We're kind of proud about it. Nonetheless, it's good to focus an entire month on it and remind ourselves to support our amazing vineyard owners and winemakers (and everyone who has a hand in it) by tasting, buying, savoring, loving Washington wine.

Plus, there are lots of events going on during the month you might want to take part in, some free, some not. All worth taking in, whether at restaurants, wine shops, tasting rooms, and hotels. Here are some examples:

Poco Wine + Spirits on Capitol Hill is having a special tasting on March 10 with winemaker John Patterson of Patterson Cellars, 6- 9 p.m.

Purple Café has specials on flights, bottles, and glasses through March 27. If you purchase one of their Washington wine flights, you'll be entered to win a par of tickets to the Grand Tasting at Taste Washington.

Russell's in Bothell is having a celebration of women in Washington wine on March 24, from 6 -9 p.m. Tickets include eight appetizers and 8 tastings.

Pomegranate Bistro in Redmond has two promotions going on in March. Purchase a case of featured Washington wine and get 15% off. Purchase a featured bottle of Washington wine (dine in or take out) and be entered into a raffle for a $75 gift card to Pomegranate.

Dunham Cellars in Walla Walla offers complimentary tastings throughout March, Monday-Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

And, of course, the month culminates in the big boy, Taste Washington, March 31-April 3, with educational seminars, farm excursions, The New Vintage event, Red & White Party, as well as the amazing wine and food experience of the Grand Tasting, featuring over 225 Washington wineries.
