Over 40 Chef and Cocktail Stations to Savor

The James Beard Foundation®, the organization behind the James Beard Awards®, the most prestigious culinary recognition in the country, announced that its Taste America culinary series returns to Seattle with a walk-around tasting on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m.

at Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. Presented by Capital One, the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America® series celebrates culinary excellence and the local independent restaurants at the heart of our communities, bringing together chefs and food lovers for unique dining experiences across 20 U.S. cities.

The Seattle walk-around tasting will feature Brian Doherty, Executive Chef, Danielle Grogan, Pastry Chef from Four Seasons Hotel Seattle and Goldfinch Tavern, and Ethan Stowell, CEO of Ethan Stowell Restaurants. See the event website below for the list of other participating chef talent featured on Oct. 23.

Chef Doherty has helmed kitchens at some of the leading hotels and resorts in Washington, Hawaii, and California. As executive chef, Brian oversees all things culinary at Goldfinch Tavern, seasonal pop-up restaurants at the infinity pool, events, and in-room dining. He’s been a mainstay star in the last two James Beard Taste Americas at Four Seasons in 2023 and 2023. With panoramic views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains from the restaurant and event space, he has some of the best views in Seattle to craft his culinary masterpieces.

During Grogan’s culinary studies, one of the rotations of stations was bread baking and desserts. It was a turning point, as her love and passion for pastry began. Danielle has made Seattle home from the Bay Area in California to Washington D.C.. Danielle’s works of art come to life through creative desserts for Goldfinch Tavern, masterpiece wedding cakes

for discerning couples, and holiday dessert buffets and custom-themed welcome amenities. Guests have come to know her nostalgic take on favorite desserts, creating new memories with her combinations of flavors and unique presentation.

Chef Stowell, a James Beard Award nominee, is the CEO and Founder of Ethan Stowell Restaurants based in Seattle. His highly acclaimed restaurants include Tavolàta, How to Cook a Wolf, the Victor Tavern, Bombo Italian Kitchen, Cortina, Staple; Fancy Mercantile, Ballard Pizza Company, Rione XIII, Red Cow, Wolf (located in Nordstrom’s flagship store in midtown Manhattan), as well as Goldfinch Tavern in the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. In December 2023, the Puget Sound Business Journal recognized Stowell as their Executive of the Year, highlighting his work with Ethan Stowell Restaurants and his importance in the Pacific Northwest restaurant industry as a business and philanthropic leader.
