Elliott's Oyster House

We do love our oysters and Elliott's has been enabling us since 1975. Right now you can enjoy a freshly-shucked oyster on the half shell for just $2 during Oyster Happy Hour. Oysters are great anyway, but these freshest-of-the-fresh are even better as you savor them while you're on the water. What a view and enduring legacy.  Tinte Cellars

Everyone wants to make world-class wines. Tinte Cellars owners have a second goal in mind: the greater good. Tim Gamble and Teresa Spellman Gamble launched Tinte in 2018; their first year donations to charitable organizations totaled more than $170,000. Each year they choose a few nonprofits to receive a portion of all wine sales. 2020 recipients are Mary's Place, Northwest Harvest, and Seattle Children's Behavioral Health Crisis Care Clinic. That second goal is a lock. What about the first? They walked away with four golds and two silvers from the 2020 Seattle Wine Awards. 2020 Mission accomplished. On to 2021!

Tinte Cellars is located at 19495 144th Ave NE, A-100, in Woodinville, and open for reservation-only tastings Mon-Thurs noon-4 p.m., Fri 3-5 p.m., Sat-Sun noon-6 p.m. Book your tasting at tintecellars.com/tasting-experiences. Hollywood Tavern

Open again for dine-in meals, guests enjoy the dining room as well as everyone's favorite, the patio and fire pit. Another bonus: The Knoll, a new area just outside the tavern via a set of stairs where friends can gather, weather permitting. Physical comfort, yes, but also eating comfort with food that inspires: Mabel's Cajun Chicken Sandwich, fried pickles, The Tavern CBLT (chicken, bacon lettuce, tomato, avocado spread), fall-off-the-bone pork ribs, cod & chips. Hollywood Tavern is located at 14501 Woodinville-Redmond Rd NE. The Knoll is open Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday. The Lakehouse

Vibrant, farm-inspired craft cooking from Chef Jason Wilson makes this Bellevue spot a worthy destination. Every dish has a story behind it and an artisan hand that has touched it. The spacious dining room makes you feel like you're on vacation. Flavors keep you coming back for more: grilled organic carrots with olive oil-lime whipped yogurt, toasted seeds, fresh herbs. Seared sea scallops with king oyster mushroom, corn pudding, pinot noir-thyme sauce and cherries. Impossible to resist. Takeout and touchless to-go items include picnic kits, Date Night Dinners, Burger Boxes, Cocktail Packages, and items from their pantry and family meals.

Castilla Restaurant

Let's face it. You're not going to Spain this year. Luckily, we have Castilla in Bellevue where you can get all those vibrant Spanish flavors and textures. Maybe just eating outside your house is still a reach. Still no problem. Order from their online menu and you can pick up your choices and take them home. Or you can thrill your "bubble tribe" with a catered experience. Either way, you have so many good decisions to make: which tapas, hot/cold? Mushrooms, calamari, chorizo? Paella mixta, squid ink, or vegetarian? Pork tenderloin with Valdeon cheese sauce? Gazpacho? Flatbreads? Time to order!

The Nest, Thompson Seattle

It's untrue that you can outrun COVID, but you can feel like you're out of reach while at The Nest on top of Thompson Seattle. So high above the city, overlooking Elliott Bay and the Olympics, anxiety drops away. Oh, the grand days of dining at a steakhouse downtown! Well, they're back with The Met's reopening. It's a slightly different world where you can only dine indoors with household members, but a focus on the health and safety of guests has always been and always will be in place. Happy hours are exactly what we need more of these days - a time to relax over a favorite beverage and leave the world behind. As usual, Revolve is on the case! They've created a new 20/20 Happy Hour: 20% off small plates (bacon-wrapped dates, crispy Brussels sprouts!) and 20% off drinks (Rhuberry Margaritas, wine!). A Bit of Taste - Queen Anne Olive Oil Company

Shopping feels different now with social distancing. The antidote is Queen Anne Days - shop along Queen Anne Avenue on the sidewalk! You'll still need a mask, but you can browse in the fresh air. A Bit of Taste will be offering "Buy one sample gift pack of olive oil & balsamic, get one free" - you might need to head inside to try a few flavors. They'll also be featuring olive oil-based skincare products, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Your skin and hair will feel so good. Newly virtual and still fun! You'll watch three chef demos for delicious treats: butter lemon spinach from Chef Daisley Gordon; breaded and seared scallops, Chef Maximillian Petty; Moroccan lamb stew with deluxe cous cous, Chef Peter Levine. A few favorite Cooking with Class people will pop in to say hello. A fun and live online auction will have you bidding for a much-needed getaway or a fun chef's dinner.
