Jeff Kanof

Co-Owner and Vice President

Jeff is a recovering attorney, having left his law firm job in New York City for the Northwest to focus on his passion for fine spirits. Originally from the Philadelphia area, Jeff grew up in a family that prioritized travel, food, and wine. He studied at the University of South Carolina and Boston College Law School but spent most of his free time exploring restaurants and researching beer - even spending a month in Belgium seeking out some of the world's best beers.

After law school, Jeff started his career in New York City as a practicing attorney at Seward & Kissel LLP representing investment managers. In 2009, a fellow lawyer noticed Jeff's affinity for beverages and invited him to Milk & Honey, the famed members-only cocktail bar on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. That night changed everything for Jeff - it was the first time he experienced the true magic of spirits and cocktails. He spent the next handful of years getting to know spirits by sitting across the bar from many of the country's best bartenders. In 2012, Jeff headed west to Seattle, where he was lucky to meet the founder of Letterpress Distilling just a few days after his move. While still working in his role at T-Mobile Headquarters, he dedicated his nights and weekends to helping Letterpress Distilling launch their distillery to the public.

In 2013, Jeff made the decision to pursue his love of craft spirits full-time, joining the founders of Copperworks Distilling Company as they were completing their distillery buildout. He now serves as Vice President at Copperworks, where he leads sales efforts, manages staff, and is instrumental in the strategic marketing and production decisions. He also serves as Secretary/Treasurer on the American Craft Spirits Association's Board of Directors.
