All dishes are made fresh in the Mughlai (royal) style of cooking of North Indian cuisine. You'll find chicken, lamb, pasta, seafood, tandoori and curry items. Chef/owner Benjamin Cruz is classically trained and has worked in upper-end hotels across India. The interior is simple and calming with soft Indian music playing. Lunch buffet offered Monday-Saturday.

Storefronts along this section of Roosevelt Way are colorful and busy with lots of signs advertising the stores themselves or the wares inside. It would be easy to miss the Bengal Tiger lurking in the midst of these other businesses. Familiar Indian dishes are on the menu, but the payback is great for trying something different like cashew and saffron-marinated chicken with garlic sauce.

Bombay Grill offers Indian food with an authentic twist--all the standards plus seafood specialities and even a few pasta dishes. The lunch buffet is excellent and includes sizzling vegetables on a dosa grill. They've also added weekend brunch. The full bar is very cozy. And they even have their own parking lot. Free delivery within a one mile radius.

Owned by the same family that owns India House, Cedar's serves some of the city's best Indian food to locals and visitors to the University District. The menu also includes some Middle Eastern and European dishes.

When you've got to have Indian, Chutneys is a good option. They offer a good selection of appetizers (like coriander calamari served with coconut-tamarind chutney), naan, chicken, lamb and seafood. They also have a number of good vegetarian options, including tandoori vegetables. Get it all with either the mixed grill or seafood grill.

A nice corner spot with lots of windows, mellow colors on the walls and cloths on the tables. Fresh ingredients are used at this Indian bistro to produce delicious dishes like tandoori halibut and prawns in coconut cream sauce. Standard items on the lunch buffet, but fresh quality makes it a stand-out. The Chaat Lounge is a relaxed bar area where guest can relax on couches, enjoy interesting cocktails and small plates. Chutney's also offers breakfast and brunch on weekends.

A brightly-colored interior invites you into this store-front Indian restaurant. Owner Baljit Singh has many years of restaurant experience and offers good solid dishes seven days a week, including a lunch buffet. Familes are welcome and kids six and under eat free.

Although the name sounds like a casual take-out joint, the room is lovely, calm and dimly lit. You don't see it from your car, but it's worth a quick turn off the busy street. The restaurant is 100% halal (the Muslim version of kosher and also homestyle cooking). A good-sized lunch buffet offers some nice surprises Monday through Friday and they have a weekend special on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. Special skewers handmade in England are used for cooking the kababs. Ice creams are made in-house.

It's curry all the way in this no-frills lunch spot. It's small, but they offer take out as well. Lunch and early dinner. Curry from several countries makes your decision a little harder, but you can take taste tests to help.

It may be tough parking, but it doesn't stop the throngs coming in for lunch buffet--maybe office workers from the neighborhood? The buffet line sits in front of a kitchen pass-through window. Fabric lamp shades of berries and leaves don't look too Indian, but no one looks up from their food long enough to notice. They're happy to accommodate special dietary needs. Open 7 days a week.

There are so many storefronts jumbled together in this part of Greenwood, it’s a surprise to enter a light and airy restaurant. The menu provides pictures--you need something to help you make up your mind.
