FOX Sports Grill   206-340-1369     1522 6th Ave, Seattle   Downtown Lots of "natural" wonders here--a couple of waterfalls and some rock walls. Upstairs inside the entrance are more tables with ringside seats for watching sidewalk sports as well as those on TV. Downstairs the bar/dining area has several large screen TVs and numerous small screens around the room--can't miss a moment of FOX! A separate non-blaring TV dining room (of course there is a TV there, it's just turned down a bit) is a nice change of pace. The wine room is great for a private party. Buckley's on Queen Anne   206-691-0232     232 First Ave W, Seattle   Queen Anne (Lower) Let's hope Buckley's makes a go of it (in general and in this location which has turned over so much that it makes your head spin). It's a place that feels like things are happening there--probably because of the high ceilings. It's loud most of the time and really loud when a sporting event is on TV. Canterbury   206-322-3130     534 15th Ave E, Seattle   Capitol Hill A large English lodge plopped down onto 15th should look odd, but it’s been here so long that it would seem wrong without it. Although not open until 11 a.m., breakfast is served from that point on--omelets, pancakes, huevos rancheros. The menu is lengthy and has something to please everyone. Charlestown Street Café   206-937-3800     3800 California Ave SW, Seattle   West Seattle A family, American-style restaurant offers tables, booths and counter seats. They are the undefeated champions of the Great Chowder Cookoff in Newport, Rhode Island (at least from 2000-2002 and maybe beyond). The regular menu offers beef stroganoff, salmon fettucini, halibut, Thai salad, burgers and sandwiches. Breakfast includes chicken enchilada omelets, berry crepes and cinnamon rolls. Christo's on Alki   206-923-2200     2508 Alki Ave SW, Seattle   West Seattle Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, JoAnn Gianouva Fotopouls has been open since 2000. Dishes include pancakes, eggs Benedict, omelets, burgers, sandwiches, salmon, oysters, salads and more. Although right on Alki, it's not just a spot for those seeking the view. Chutney's Grille on the Hill   206-726-1000     605 15th Ave E, Seattle   Capitol Hill A nice corner spot with lots of windows, mellow colors on the walls and cloths on the tables. Fresh ingredients are used at this Indian bistro to produce delicious dishes like tandoori halibut and prawns in coconut cream sauce. Standard items on the lunch buffet, but fresh quality makes it a stand-out. The Chaat Lounge is a relaxed bar area where guest can relax on couches, enjoy interesting cocktails and small plates. Coldwater Bar and Grill   206-256-7697     1900 5th Ave (in the Westin Hotel), Seattle   Downtown Earth tones and retro hanging lamps conspire to ease you into a relaxing time at Coldwater. With a focus on regional seafood and Northwest dishes, this Westin Hotel restaurant is a pleaser. An upstairs area provides a wonderful private dining experience or may be used as an extension of the main floor dining room on busy evenings.
